Earn free gear while hiking with us this Fall!
We've teamed up with Salomon footwear again to bring all of our locations a series of Fall group hikes where you'll get to test out a pair of Salomons for free!
Check out the details for each location and click the sign me up button to sign up for the hike(s) you'd like to join!
Anyone younger than 18 attending the hike must be accompanied by an adult (it's the rules)
Please note: End times may vary per hike as distance, group pace and other factors come into play
At least 2 hikes:
A Salomon Buff (a favorite multipurpose item) plus a Walkabout Outfitter carabiner
At least 3 hikes:
A Salomon Hydro 45 belt (perfect for trail running or day hike water carrying) and a Walkabout Outfitter Camelbak watebottle
Waiver forms will be required to participate and will be provided on the day of each hike

Make sure you have submitted an online signup form (one per participant) - linked below for each location.
1) August 18th - 5:30 pm - Lake Robertson Evening Hike
Meet at the store at 5:30pm. Drive Time: 25 Minutes. Enjoy a beautiful and scenic two mile hike around the lake. With beautiful views of the lake around every corner!
2) September 15th - 9:00 am - Devils Marbleyard Morning/Early Afternoon Hike
Meet at the store at 9:00am Drive Time: 30 Minutes. This 3 mile adventure offers a challenging place to boulder and provides beautiful mountain views throughout.
3) October 20th - 10:30 am - Crabtree Falls Afternoon Hike
Meet at the store at 10:30 am Drive Time: 47 Minutes. This moderate 2.7 mile trail wanders through the mountainside offering scenic views of 5 major cascades falling a total distance of 1200 feet. Overlooks allow hikers to enjoy the beauty of the valley. There is a $3 Parking Fee for all vehicles.
1) August 17th - 9am - Bear Fence Loop Hike
Meet at store at 9am. 1.4-mile round trip Moderate 311-foot elevation gain This hike includes a rock scramble to a 360 degree view. (If you have a fear of heights, it may not be for you.)
2) September 21st - South River Falls
Meet at store at 9am .Located at mile 62.8 in the Central District of the park, is truly spectacular. It’s a waterfall of 83 feet, the third tallest in the park. A rock ledge with a stone guard wall offers you a good resting place as you enjoy the sight—and the thundering sound—of falling water. The hike is 2.6-3.3 miles roundtrip, with a climb of 850-910 feet as you will have the option to hike to the base of the falls. Moderate.
3) October 19th - Marys Rock
Meet at store at 9am. A beautiful hike with expansive views of Shenandoah National Park and the valley below. 3.7-mile round trip Moderate 1,210-foot elevation gain.
1) August 25th - Belle Isle
2-4 miles. Meet at trail head at 10:30am, go back to store after for refreshments. Awesome island with trails galore! Great for all ages and levels.
2) September 22nd - North Bank Trail
Meet at trail head at 10:30am, go back to store after for refreshments. North Bank Trail is a 3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Richmond that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
3) October 27th - Buttermilk Trail
Meet at trail head at 10:30am, go back to store after for refreshments. Buttermilk Trail is a 4.5 mile out and back trail located near Richmond, Virginia that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
1) August 11th - 9am - Pandapas Pond
Meet at store. Come explore some trails right in our own backyard at Pandapas Pond. Difficulty - Easy . Distance - 3 miles
2) September 8th - 9am - Cascades
Meet at store. This out and back trail culminates in a beautiful 66 foot water fall. Feel free to bring a towel if you plan on playing in the creek. Difficulty - Moderate . Distance - 4 miles. Parking Fee - $3 per car
3) October 13th - 9am - Bald Knob
Meet at store. We will summit Bald Knob in Giles county which peaks over 4300 feet! The views at the top are incredible and included the New River Valley and Blacksburg. Difficulty - Moderate . Distance - 3 to 4 miles
1) August 10th - 10:30 am - Chestnut Ridge Loop
Meet at trail head at 10:30am - 2 Miles. With 200 feet of elevation change this is a easy, short trail around Mill Mountain in Roanoke Virginia
2) September 14th - 10:30 am - Poor Mountain Trail
Meet at trail head at 10:30am - 3.4 Miles. With 800 feet of elevation change this is a moderate trail that features a river and several overlooks in Roanoke Virginia
3) October 12th - 10:30 am - Hay Rock (shortened only to first overlook )
Meet at STORE at 9am - 4 Miles. With 1,200 feet elevation change this is a moderate trail that offers great views of Carvin’s Cove in Daleville Virginia.
