Activities at home while Social Distancing
In these unusual times with social distancing it might be challenging to not just sit inside and binge watch everything on Netflix or Hulu. But now is a great time to also get outdoors safely around your home and do some of those things that you may have been putting off, or just haven't tried yet -- including some fun ideas for the younger adventurers in your home.
1. Spend time in your yard, or do some yard work.
With spring starting to make it's presence known, your yard may be filled with amazing new flowers just waiting for you to stop by and take a moment to enjoy them as they bloom. You can do some yard work, plant something new, or what better way to relax than with an ENO DoubleNest Hammock!
2. Cook a meal outside
Great chefs know that there is no substitute for cooking over an open flame. In addition to a grill, some cities even allow the use of an enclosed fire pit, making the whole backyard camping experience much more authentic. Plan a meal to include items that can be cooked over a fire, such as hot dogs, chili, beans or any other camping favorites. If you don't have a grill, you can check out the MSR PocketRocket Stove kit for some outdoor cooking. After the food has been cleaned off the plates, it is time for the sticky sweetness that only S’mores can bring to a campfire. And kick back and enjoy the night with a drink in a HydroFlask Wine or Rocks tumbler.
3. Organize a Treasure Hunt
Who doesn't love a treasure hunt, and it's an exciting way to spend some time outside exploring your yard. Clues can be geared to a nature reference, family activity reference (swing set, garage, flowerbed, etc.), or possibly as a treasure map complete with numbered paces, geographical direction and an "X" to mark the spot!
4. Backyard camping
With some warming days (and nights) coming our way why not set up your tent in the backyard and plan for a night under the stars. The North Face Stormbreak 2 is a great tent and paired with a Helinox Chair One or the Nemo Stargaze Recliner you would have one comfortable night out.
5. Read a book or tell "campfire" stories
While backyard camping, or relaxing in your ENO DoubleNest Hammock, enjoy a good book by ENO Moonshine light or Luci Lights. Or better yet, gather the family around and share some "campfire" stories.
