Please help us!  We'd so appreciate your support and your daily vote in order to win the Independent Small Business of the Year Award!  We've made it to the semi-finals of getting this National Award.  It would be a HUGE boon to us to win this award which the prize includes marketing help which as a small, family-owned business, all help is needed and appreciated!  Voting ends on December 10th, and you can vote daily until then; please, please do!  The winner will be announced on December 13th.  Thanks everyone!!!

Is 2018 the year for a big hike?  At our Walkabout Outfitter store in Harrisonburg, we had a panel of hikers differing in ages and hiker-type join us to go over the questions that you may be wondering about.  The goal of this event was to provide a dialogue between folks interested in getting into hiking and those that have experience to draw from and a willingness to share tips, setbacks, stories, etc. in an effort to open the outdoors to as many people as possible in a positive, friendly setting.  Check out this blog to learn from their experiences.
